For Trusts, Local Authorities & Family Services

Our Dragon Storybooks are designed as pregnancy bonding resources, supporting expectant parents to build an early relationship with their baby through shared reading, gentle touch and everyday moments of connection. Alongside individual parent purchases, Dragons is available for bulk ordering by services and organisations, including maternity teams, Family Hubs, perinatal mental health services and community programmes.

The books are already being used to support:

  • Antenatal education
  • Early attachment and bonding
  • Parent wellbeing and emotional connection
  • Inclusive, accessible pregnancy support

This makes Dragons ideal for integration into funded programmes and family support pathways.

It’s a practical pregnancy bonding resource that:

  • Supports National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance recommending antenatal bonding support for all pregnant parents
  • Aligns with First 1,001 Days priorities by strengthening parent–infant relationships before birth
  • Contributes to improved perinatal mental health, with stronger prenatal attachment linked to reduced maternal anxiety and depression
  • Encourages positive pregnancy health behaviours, including increased engagement with antenatal care and reduced prenatal risk factors
  • Supports breastfeeding intention, initiation and duration through improved antenatal wellbeing and early emotional connection
  • Promotes paternal/partner involvement during pregnancy, associated with better partner mental health and stronger early father–infant bonding
  • Helps create a healthier early relational environment, supporting emotional regulation and long-term child wellbeing
  • Offers a low-cost, scalable intervention combining physical resources with optional digital support — extending reach without increasing staff time
  • Provides services with a practical, inclusive way to deliver consistent early attachment support across universal and targeted pathways

Many services integrate Dragons into antenatal education, early intervention and perinatal wellbeing pathways — providing families with something tangible they can keep and revisit. that supports children's cognitive, social, and emotional development.

Helen, Perinatal Mental Health Nurse
